Early this week, World Poker Tour (WPT), made an announcement that another Main Event will be included in Season X. The current schedule will feature the latest Lucky Hearts event. It is set to take place at the Hard Rock Hotel based in Florida. It will feature a buy-in worth $3,500. The event is set to take place over four days – from the 10th till 11th of February.

This is the first season in which the Hard Rock Hotel in Florida will be a venue in the tour. However, in the past, the hotel has been host to a few events in the WPT. The first event held at the hotel was the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown. This took place in April, 2011. It was a $10,000 tournament in which Taylor Kriegenbergh took home the title and more than $1.11 million in winnings. The WPT Regional Series took place at the hotel, in November and December.

Recent Stops in WPT Season X

In December, WPT featured a number of tournaments. In the 1st week of December, the event was held in Prague. It saw a field of 571 players who each put in €3,500 to enter the event. They were trying their hand at a pot that could make one of them richer by €450,000. The player who walked away with the pot was Andrey Pateychuk. The Prague WPT event was the second big title for him in 2011.

Nearly double the amount in the WPT Prague pot was up for grabs at the next event – Five Diamond (Doyle Brunson) Poker Classic, Las Vegas. James Dempsey took down the pot worth $821,612. The last event was WPT Venice, which saw Edoardo Alescio take away close to €200,000. The next stop in the Season X schedule is WPT Ireland.

Live Action will be Streamed on WPT Website

The final table at the Lucky Hearts event will be different from those at other events. It will not be shown on television. But, poker fans and enthusiasts can catch the action live on the WPT website. Including the new event, Florida will be hosting four Main Events for Season X of the WPT.

The other three events are the Poker Showdown at the WPT Seminole Hard Rock which will take place between April and May, WPT Jacksonville coming up in April and WPT Jacksonville which concluded in November 2011. Florida has become one of the favorite stops for the WPT since a ban on live poker was lifted in 2010.
